Terms of Use
Last updated: October 28, 2026
In short
These terms are an agreement between you and Arlee, LLC, the company that makes and sells Attic, a disk space app for Mac. By installing or using Attic, or by buying a license key, you accept them. This summary doesn't replace the sections below.
- You can try Attic for free, with no time limit.
- A license key costs $6.99, paid once. It works on up to 3 of your Macs.
- Attic deletes only what you collect and confirm, and only by moving it to the Trash.
- If Attic isn't for you, write to us within 30 days of buying (bought on our website) and get your money back.
- These terms are governed by the law of the State of Delaware, USA.
Free trial
You can use Attic without a license key for as long as you like. Scanning, the hidden space, search, Quick Look and everything else are free.
The first 3 deletions are free too: each press of Delete that moves something to the Trash counts as one. After that, deleting needs a license key; everything else keeps working.
License
When you buy a license key, Arlee, LLC gives you a non-exclusive, perpetual license to use Attic on up to 3 Macs that you own or use. A key is for one person; a company buys one key for each person who uses Attic, or writes to us for a team license.
To move the key to another Mac, open Attic › Settings › License on the old Mac and click Deactivate This Mac, then enter the key on the new one. You can move a key up to 3 times a month.
Attic is owned by Arlee, LLC. The license lets you use Attic; it doesn't transfer ownership of Attic or its code to you.
You may not:
- sell, rent or lend your key or Attic itself;
- post or share your key publicly;
- get around the license check or the trial's limits, or help others do so.
Purchase
Attic is sold through Stripe's Managed Payments. Link, by Stripe, is the merchant of record for your purchase and processes the payment. The checkout and the receipt say “Sold through Link”, and your card statement shows a charge from LINK.COM*.
The price is $6.99, once. There is no subscription. The checkout may show the price in your own currency. Taxes such as VAT or sales tax are included in the price or added to it, as the checkout shows before you pay.
Link sends the receipt. We send your license key in a separate email from keys@atticdisk.com, usually within a minute of paying.
In the Mac App Store, Apple sells Attic and handles the payment and refunds under Apple's own terms.
Refunds
You can get your money back within 30 days of buying (bought on our website). How to ask is in the refund policy.
Updates
Every 1.x release of Attic is included in your purchase. If there is ever a paid version 2.0, we will announce it in advance.
Deleting files
Attic never deletes anything on its own. It deletes only the items you put in the Collector and confirm with Delete, after a five-second countdown with a Stop button, and it only moves them to the Trash. Items macOS won't let Attic move stay in the Collector with the reason.
You choose what to delete, and you are responsible for that choice. Look through the Trash before you empty it: once it is emptied, Attic can't bring the files back.
Support
We answer questions by email at support@atticdisk.com, usually within two working days.
Your data
Attic looks at file names and sizes only on your Mac and doesn't send them anywhere. What we do receive, and why, is in the privacy policy.
Termination
If you break these terms, your license ends. A refunded purchase ends the license too: the key stops activating new Macs.
No warranty
To the extent the law allows, Attic is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We work to make Attic reliable, but we don't promise that it is free of errors or that it suits your needs.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, Arlee, LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for lost data, profits or time, that come from using Attic or not being able to use it. Our total liability for anything to do with Attic is limited to the price you paid for your license.
Keep backups of the files that matter to you.
Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. Material changes are announced on this page a month before they take effect, and the date at the top changes. If you keep using Attic after a change takes effect, the new terms apply.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes go to the state or federal courts located in Delaware.
If you are a consumer, you keep the rights the law of your country gives you that a contract can't take away.
